The page will be a standard one which you ammend with the details you type into the template which will you find shortly. The page will be 'hosted' on my web server and you can then browse the web server to see who you would like to work with in subsequent weeks
The way the template works:
You don't need to know this but somebody always asks so I now include it in the paperwork!
The template is a form which feeds information to a cgi program (cgi=common gateway interface). The cgi program has a set of blanks within it that are filled with the information you type in making a unique page. The program writes the information you type in to a file and makes another file which provides links to the pages. QED simple (well ok difficult but it looks simple!!).
Complete the template now and when you have finished click on the BACK button (in the menu bar at the top of the screen to return here.
Click on this link to travel to the template
Having completed the web page you will be able to find it again at the following location. http://www.malcolmread.co.uk/ssc2050/students/your university computer ID.htm
You can now save your page to disk.
Click File/Save As and give the file a name - like username.htm - and save the file either on your floppy disk or on the hard drive (the H drive)
DO NOT use the C drive (as you would at home).
Now check that the file is correctly saved by opening it from your floppy disk. Type the url a:\your computer ID.htm in the location line and hit enter.
You can view the code which created this page by clicking View/PageSource.
